Dear friends, partners and colleagues,
the 5th Annual Conference of the German Stem Cell Network (GSCN) took place 11-13 September 2017 in Jena and was hosted together with the Leibniz Institute on Aging – Fritz Lipmann Institute e.V. (FLI) at the Friedrich Schiller University - Ernst Abbe Campus.
A detailed report on the 5th Annual GSCN Conference can be found here.
Two poster sessions, meet-the-expert tables, an industry exhibition and two evening events offered many opportunities for exciting discussions, academic exchange and reconnecting with old friends and colleagues of the 400 participants and industry representatives from 26 companies.
The conference will covered the latest findings in stem cell biology in Germany. Since promotion of junior scientists is a particular aim of the GSCN, most speakers were selected from the best abstracts that had been submitted. Awardees of the GSCN prizes presented their results during the Presidential Symposium. The program was completed by invited keynote lectures to present the international points of reference for this fast growing field of research. We welcomed Elaine Fuchs (New York), Heinrich Jasper (Novato), Jürgen Knoblich (Vienna) and Maike Sander (San Diego) to present their most recent results. The final session of the conference was a Joined Session with the Leibniz Institute on Aging – Fritz Lipmann Institute e.V. (FLI) setting a spotlight on the excellent science in Jena.
We look forward welcoming you next year 2018 in Heidelberg!
With best regards,
The Program Committee Jena
